Rihanna, nominated for the 7 awards land Best Rap Song for ‘Famous’ with Kanye West, walked away from the "event" showing completely empty handed. The upset places her in history books as the female artist with the most nominations and no win for a single Grammy event. A record previously held by India Arie for her seven time nominated ‘Acoustic Soul’ which earned no golden gramophones in 2002, the most famous incident of this was when Mariah Carey‘s ‘Daydream’ era earned 6 nominations but went home without a single one.
Similarly, Kanye West‘s ‘Life of Pablo’ was also nominated for 8 awards. Leaving empty-handed, he now holds the record for most nominated male with no wins in a single night.
